1/3 1967 Ford Cosworth DFV F1 operational engine. This is an exact replica of the winningest motor of all time, used from 1967 – 1985 in various F1 cars such as the Lotus 49, Penske, Brabham, Tyrrell & Matra to name a few. This is a miniature 4 stroke engine with 2 titanium valves per cylinder, displacing approximately 76 ccm3. There are alloy pistons in iron cast cylinder sleeves, with alloy 7075 used on the lower engine and cylinder heads. The oilpan, camshaft housing, cover and gearbox are all done in an alloy casting as well. Most of the parts are CNC machined and the exhaust system is stainless steel, bent from one piece. It has 8 carburetors and 4 camshafts driven by the powerbelt. The engine is watercooled with a copper head gasket and runs on nitro fuel using glow plugs. This masterpiece is made from over 1000 parts and measures about 15.5″ long x 7.5″ tall x 9″ wide and weighs around 22 lbs. Please not that these are pre-production images.
