2005 Brian May Burns Red Special guitar.
This guitar was donated by the Nelson Mandela Foundation to Team Lotus for an auction held on behalf of the late Freddie Mercury and Queen on Sept.6, 2011. It was used and signed at the second ‘46664’ (Mandela’s prison number) concert which was held at Fancourt, George, South Africa in March 2005. This event was hosted by Will Smith with Nelson Mandela in attendance. The guitar has been signed by; Nelson Mandela (N. Mandela), Brian May, Roger Taylor, Annie Lennox, India Arie, Jeff Beck (to the rear) and several others. Included is the auction catalog, and a photo of Brian May & Jeff Beck with it after the signing.
A similar guitar was purchased by Peter Gabriel several years ago. (K02U)
