The 1950 San Remo Grand Prix was an F1 motor race held on April 16 at the Autodromo di Ospedaletti  in Sanremo, Liguria, Italy. It was the third race of the very first ‘official’ F1 season, 1950. The 90 lap event was won by Juan Manuel Fangio in his Alfa Romeo 158 after starting from second position.

This rare victory trophy is large and measures about 15″ / 37 cm tall including the wooden base. It is 13″ / 32 cm wide at the handles and weighs about 6lbs / 2.6kgs.

This was Fangio’s very first win in an Alfa Romeo!   He finished 2nd overall that year as well.

This is a perfect copy of the vintage open face Herbert Johnson style helmet Fangio wore over three years during his drives and Championships in various race cars including the Mercedes W196, Maserati 250F, Lancia D24 & D50, Ferrari 860 Monza & 290 MM.

The helmet shell is built from a base molded from resin and fibers while its inside is lined with natural 3mm / 0.12″ thick cork.  All straps are crafted from the finest real leather while the padding and covers are stitched from 100% cotton. (csn25)

This rare original large format Italian ‘4 fogli’ poster was published for the 1980 documentary film about F1 World Champion Juan Manuel Fangio. The movie (One Life, One Legend) was directed by Hugh Hudson and starred Fangio as himself. The art on this Italian variant shows Fangio in the World Championship Alfa Romeo 158 / 159 flanked by Championship trophies.

This scarce poster is in very good condition, linen mounted, and measures a huge 6.5 feet tall (2×1.4m / 79×55″).

This rare original poster is very large, measuring 5 feet tall  (45.5 x 60” / 115x152cm) and the vibrant artwork by G. Raspaut shows a speeding Maserati. It has been professionally linen mounted and is in very nice condition with minor restoration to one of the original fold lines towards the bottom. This lithograph was printed by Moullot, Marseille and is one of the few large format ones known.

This Grand Prix took place at the Circuit du Roussillon in France on May 8, 1949. The event was a complete domination by Maserati who took the first 6 places!

The race was won by Juan Manuel Fangio in Maserati 4CLT-48 s/n 1599 racing on behalf of the ‘Automovil Club Argentino’. Second place went to Prince Bira in 4CLT 48 s/n 1598.

This rare vintage original poster is in very good condition on linen and large, measuring about four feet tall  (31×47″ / 79x119cm). The artwork by Bernard Minne shows two stylized GP cars.

The race was won by Juan Manuel Fangio in the Maserati 250F (s/n 2528) followed by Tony Brooks in the Vanwall and Masten Gregory in the sister 250F.

This lovely 15″ / 38cm long hand built resin & metal model was made using the limited edition MG kit from Italy. It was constructed in the short nose version with the #1 and Argentina colors.

The fine scale replica is quite hefty and has many added details and a gorgeous paint finish. As the images display, the engine cover comes off, as does the entire rear section.

This incredible large scale replica was hand built in the US by Ron Phillips in a tiny edition of just 15 units, which sold out immediately in 1992/3.

The three foot long (37″ / 94cm) 35 lbs / 16kg all metal model is very detailed, and fully operable by remote control, capable of speeds up to 80 mph! Inside it possesses a modified R/C helicopter engine. The replica is in fine overall condition for its 30 year old age, but with a windscreen that has crazed over time and some minor handling wear.
