This is the rarest and most desirable Porsche poster from the 1970s. It shows Steve McQueen with the Porsche 908 and lists 3 victories from 1970 including Sebring 12 hr., Holtville & Phoenix. The vintage original poster measures 30×40″ / 76×102 cm and was in average condition when discovered, but restored and linen mounted so it looks fabulous again.

These are always tough to find, in any condition, but what makes this one super special is that it has been autographed My Best from Steve McQueen  in bold black marker.

It was printed in Germany in May of 1970, and is of course accompanied by our lifetime certificate.

These US Navy style trousers were worn by McQueen during the filming of this classic movie which was nominated for eight Academy Awards (one of which was Steve for Best Actor Drama in 1967) and eight Golden Globe Awards.

This is the original black Solar Productions director jacket worn by Steve during the filming of the movie Le Mans. This particular French made jacket is not only Steve’s size, it came from a box of his personal effects along with his helmet and trophy.

It is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the man who acquired it directly from Mr. Chaumont, who was Steve’s personal assistant at the A.C.O. in France.

This is the original suit worn by Steve McQueen while filming the epic movie Le Mans in 1971! It is a two piece nomex cream uniform made by Hinchman of Indianapolis. The uniform bears the name Michael Delaney as well as all of the other pertinent sponsors – Gulf, Heuer, Firestone, and the American Flag. It shows good signs of use and is fully documented, having been donated by Solar Productions/MGM to a British newspaper for a Le Mans themed contest in 1971. It was presented to the winner by none other than Richard Attwood, who not only won Le Mans, but also drove the Porsche 917K Gulf in the movie. This is all documented.

This is a fantastic, museum quality item with superb provenance.

Ferrari 512S s/n 1036 & 1028 were used in this film as were several Porsche 917.

• NOTE: after we sold this suit, the new owner put it into a Dec/11 auction and it fetched what must be a world record for a motorsport artifact – US$800 000 + commission = US$984 000.

We have had several of these over the years, but they are getting harder to find and are constantly appreciating in value. It is understood that Porsche produced this poster without getting the official license from McQueen’s people, and as such many of the posters were destroyed and/or recalled from circulation. This super rare original Bell helmet was painted by Von Dutch for Steve personally. Steve used it quite often, including in the Gulf Porsche 908/02 at Sebring (where he finished 2nd) and at Holtville (which he won), in 1970. It was also worn during the filming of the epic movie Le Mans.

This is a huge replica of the Gulf sponsored Porsche 917 K driven by Jo Siffert & Brian Redman at 1970 Le Mans. The very same liveried 917 was driven by Steve McQueen in the movie Le Mans.

This very large scale hand built model measures nearly 3 feet long  (32″ / 81cm). It is complete with opening doors, engine and hood. Back around 2010, a tiny edition of 25 were supposed to be built by a private artisan in France, but in the end, less than 15  were constructed.

The model is made from over 1200 parts – roughly 600 resin and 600 metal. It is the largest most detailed vintage Porsche replica made, and is complete with wood base and plexiglass cover (33 x 17 x 11.5″ / 84 x 43 x 29cm)
