This is a perfect replica of Ayrton’s helmet as worn in the Championship winning McLaren MP4-4 Honda at various races including the 1988 Monaco GP and the Japanese GP at Suzuka. This Bell XFM1 is period correct and painted by one of Ayrton’s original artists, so it is absolutely identical  to his original race helmet in paint, colors, logos and design. The helmet is complete with a luxurious Bell display case that measures 15x12x12″ / 38x30x30cm.

This original OMP suit was worn by Ayrton in the McLaren MP4-7 at his historic 1992 Monaco GP win – the ‘Fight to the Finish’ with Nigel Mansell. It was then taken to the 1992 British GP, where the Marlboro patches were switched to non-tobacco ones. At the British GP it was donated to a charity auction, where Ayrton signed and race dated it.

This is an incredible piece of F1 history. It is complete with a certificate from McLaren signed by Ron Dennis, and a second letter from McLaren explaining the patch switches, as well as our gallery letter.
