This is a rare original factory heliographic print of a technical drawing of the Lancia Stratos showing various profiles of the car. The original 1/10th scale drawing was done for Bertone in period – at the same time these additional copies were executed for the factory.

The vintage print is quite large, about 4 feet wide  (49×18″ / 125x45cm) and is in very fine condition.

This rare original poster shows artwork by Aguilar of Juan Manuel Fangio in the previous year’s winning Lancia D24 speeding to the chequered flag. His car bears a number ‘5’ to denote that this is the 5th Carrera Panamericana. It is in fine condition but with some handling wear to the borders that was corrected with the linen mounting.

The artwork measures over 3 feet tall  (27×37.5″ / 69x95cm). It is one of two styles of official posters published for the 5th and final running of this famous event, both of which are extremely scarce. (xx1x)

This is a perfect copy of the vintage open face Herbert Johnson style helmet Fangio wore over three years during his drives and Championships in various race cars including the Mercedes W196, Maserati 250F, Lancia D24 & D50, Ferrari 860 Monza & 290 MM.

The helmet shell is built from a base molded from resin and fibers while its inside is lined with natural 3mm / 0.12″ thick cork.  All straps are crafted from the finest real leather while the padding and covers are stitched from 100% cotton. (csn25)

• At the 2021 Mexican GP, Valtteri Bottas was given one of these replicas as the Pole Position award!

This incredible large (37″ long and 35 lbs!) scale metal replica was handbuilt in the US by Ron Phillips in a tiny edition of 25 units, which sold out immediately in 1994. These were originally priced around US$15 000 each. It is fully operable by remote control, capable of speeds up to 70 mph!

This vintage Herbert Johnson  helmet was worn for several years up to and including the 1956 Nurburgring where Musso had a big accident in the Ferrari 290 MM s/n 0616, as evidenced by the scarring. Musso was an official works driver between 1953-1956 for Alfieri Maserati and from 1956-1958 for Scuderia Ferrari. In 1956 he wore this mostly driving the 860 Monza & Lancia D50. He had 10 wins, 19 2nd & 3rd places between 1953 and 1958. This crash helmet has the Cavallino, Italian flag motif, and a ‘dog’, all hand painted on it. It includes a special monogrammed carrying case, as well as 2 cases for pairs of glasses and spare goggle lenses.

There are several photos of Luigi wearing this helmet – sitting with Fangio and in the #13 Ferrari 860 Monza (s/n 0602M) at the 1956 12 Hours of Sebring where he finished second overall, and again in car #556 during the 1956 Mille Miglia where he finished 3rd overall. Finally there is one of him holding it in his hotel room after the crash at the Nurburgring!

To find a vintage helmet with this type of provenance and photographic reference is remarkable and as such it’s expensive.

These are original lenses worn by Ascari in 1954 at the Spanish GP at Barcelona. The matching envelope has been race dated  by Ascari in pencil. These yellow tinted lenses fit on his goggles and are bug splattered and dirty from use!

Ascari drove the Lancia D50 to its first outing at Barcelona where he took Pole Position.
