Description
1/10 1917 SPAD XIII biplane ex-Francesco Baracca.
This custom built airplane model was produced in a tiny edition of 15 with help from Giovanni Baracca, who helped research and authenticate the details of the one his dad flew in WWI. The wingspan is over 2.5 feet wide (31″ / 79cm) and the body is silk over a wooden frame. The real Spad was fitted with a 220 hp Hispano Suiza engine and this model even has a working compass in the cockpit. (x1xx)
- The last image shows one of these models sitting in the office at the Ferrari Museum today! What an awesome piece of Enzo Ferrari / Scuderia Ferrari history.
