1929 Burgundy GP at Dijon event poster – Grand Prix Automobile de Bourgogne et Coupe Repusseau
This fantastic vintage original poster features artwork by R. Pernot of a speeding race car. It measures nearly 4 feet tall (30.25×46.75″ / 77x119cm) and is in very good condition but with faint original fold marks that have been minimized by the linen backing. It even bears the original tax stamp! The poster was published by Imp. Jules Simon in Paris.
This particular Grand Prix was organized by the Burgundy Automobile Club and sponsored by the newspaper ‘Le Matin’. Held in Dijon, France the race was a 1-2-3 finish for Bugatti, and was won by a Bugatti Type 35C (T35C) at the hands of “Georges Philippe” which was the nom de guerre of Baron Philippe Rothschild. Two Type 37As rounded out 4th and 5th (T37). Other cars that campaigned here included an Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 and 6C 1500 and a Mercedes SSK.
