Shelby at Le Mans by Nicholas Watts
This original acrylic on board painting captures the excitement of the Carroll Shelby / Roy Salvadori Aston Martin DBR1 (s/n 2) leading the #11 Ferrari 250 GT TDF (s/n 1321) of Blaton / Dernier and the #37 Porsche 718 RSK of Hugus / Erickson, en route to winning the 1959 Le Mans.
This very large original painting has been signed in gold marker by the late Carroll Shelby and the artist. It has been double-matted and exquisitely framed and measures nearly 5 feet wide framed (36×48″ + 7″ all around for the matting and frame)
*Note: A small edition of 40 canvas giclee prints were published as well, each stretched over a wooden frame and ready to hang. These has also been hand signed by Carroll Shelby in silver paint pen and look nearly identical to the original, except for the brush strokes! They are the same large size – 4 feet wide (36×48″ / 91x122cm) and available for CAN$3995 each. Only one remains!
