1956 Ferrari Factory Letter signed by Enzo Ferrari
This was written by Enzo Ferrari to Mr. Spotorno regarding the fatal accident of Sighinolfi and dated 11 Settembre, 1956. It is a request for financial assistance for the parents of driver Sergio Sighinolfi. Apparently their only source of income was from their son, and they had to go back to work to pay the bills after his death.
This 8×11″ / 20x28cm document is in fine condition and tastefully framed with Ferrari logo and presentation plaque. The letter is hand signed by Enzo Ferrari in trademark violet ink.
Sergio drove the Ferrari 500 & 166 F2 for Ferrari in 1952 as well as other sports cars like the 166 MM, 212 Export, 500 Mondial & 750 Monza. He was killed on Sept.7, 1956 in a Ferrari 250 Europa, 4 days previous to this letter.
