1926 – 1955 Le Mans ACO Sign
Here is one of the original medallions which hung on the paddock walls and offices at Le Mans between 1926 and 1955. This is the smaller flat version of the ‘standard’ (25.5″) round/concave sign, and this aluminum medallion measures 16″ / 40 cm in diameter and weighs about 3 lbs / 1.4kgs. It is in original ‘displayed’ condition with a lovely patina and a hand painted logo/script that has faded heavily after years of hanging. There are many photos of the larger versions in the official LM book ’24 Heures Du Mans 1923-1992′ (book 1 published by the ACO), including the ones showing here from 1953 & 1954 Le Mans.
