1950s Muhammad Ali Post boxing gloves
This is an extremely rare original pair of 10 ounce gloves used by Cassius Clay in his early career. These dark red POST brand gloves are well worn, and have a wonderful patina. They were given by Ali back in the day to Sugar Ray Robinson. Inside each glove they are marked in pen ‘C. Clay’.
- These come with a certificate from boxing memorabilia authority Craig Hamilton, as well as a second letter written by Ray Robinson II who acquired them from his father, boxing legend Sugar Ray. A nearly identical pair of POST brand gloves now reside in the Smithsonian.
