1954 Le Mans Automobile Club of France trophy awarded to Jose Froilan Gonzalez & Maurice Trintignant
This original trophy was awarded by the A.C.F. to Gonzalez and Trintignant for achieving overall victory in their Ferrari 375 Plus s/n 0396AM. This 17 lb / 8 kg museum quality bronze trophy measures 12″ tall and 13.75″ wide (30,5x35cm). The brass plaque on the solid marble base reads –24 Heures Du Mans – 1954 / L’Automobile Club De France/ a M. Trintignant – J.F. Gonzalez / Vainqueurs sur Ferrari 375.
Gonzalez earned a very special place in Ferrari history on this day as three years earlier he had scored Ferrari’s first F1 victory. Now, in his last appearance at La Sarthe, he also gave the second victory for the Scuderia Ferrari at Le Mans.
This is an extremely rare and significant piece of Le Mans and Ferrari history. (AC1)
