1954 Umberto Maglioli Mille Miglia Vetta Ferrari watch.
This 38mm watch is in fine working order. The cream dial bears the Cavallino Rampante plus 17 Rubis and Vetta. Inscribed to the back is No. 545, which was the number on Umberto’s Ferrari 375 (s/n 0394AM), as well as FERRARI and 1954.
- Alberto Ascari won the 1954 Mille Miglia in a Lancia D24 leading the factory-entered Ferrari 500 Mondial by 26 minutes—Ferrari’s first defeat at the Mille Miglia since 1948! Second place went to Vittorio Marzotto in Ferrari 500 Mondial s/n 0404MD, with third to Luigi Musso in a Maserati A6GCS/53.
