Description
1980s Ferrari Cavallino Rampante bronze sculptures.
These are the original Prancing Horse sculptures that were used to adorn the Ferrari Factory in the 1980s and 1990s, prior to being switched for the more modern plexiglass illuminated signs and chrome horses.
These sculptures are engraved at the back by the original foundry that was contracted to make them for Ferrari, which is now closed. They were the only licensed bronze prancing horses made for Ferrari. The Modenese foundry also made some limited copies in the 1980s & 1990s which were meant to be distributed through dealers for special clients or their showrooms, and some were offered in the former Ferrari Idea catalogs.
These are a true piece of Ferrari history and art. Each was made using bronze fusion cast with the ‘lost wax’ system. If you have visited Maranello, you will seen the very same ‘medium’ version on the outside of the old Cavallino Ristorante, and the larger one hanging inside at the back. There is also a standard sized one inside the famous Montana restaurant as showing here on the wall of fame.
To the rear of each horse are threaded mounting points for easy installation. The bronze sculpture comes wooden crated with soft inner foam padding for safe and simple international shipping.
