Description
1988 Ayrton Senna McLaren suit.
This is an original red nomex Stand 21 suit worn by Ayrton Senna during the 1988 German GP at Hockenheim weekend in the McLaren MP4-4 Honda. Ayrton won the race ahead of team mate Alain Prost and Ferrari’s Gerhard Berger. While it is nearly identical, this is not the race day suit but was likely worn during Practice and Qualifying (where he achieved Pole). The uniform shows good signs of wear, and is believed used at the previous race, the 1988 British GP at Silverstone victory (after which the non-Marlboro patches were switched to ones of a different configuration). Most importantly, this is an original suit worn by the late 3X Champion during his First Title Year.
