1989 Mexican GP trophy – ex Ayrton Senna
Ayrton won his 17th race, the Mexican GP in the McLaren MP4-5 Honda. McLaren has always had it in their driver contracts to keep the winning trophies from every race, so you will never find one (see last image as a reference)! However, Ayrton commissioned an exact replica of this special award for his personal collection. This copper jug measures 14″ tall and weighs about 3.5 lbs. On it is engraved GRAN PREMIO DE MEXICO 1er LUGAR PILOTO. This trophy stayed in Senna’s home in Monaco for many years and is accompanied by a letter from the original owner.
- It is the only Ayrton Senna or McLaren trophy that we have ever seen outside of McLaren’s collection!
This is a rare chance to own a unique part of the Senna legend. Expensive, enquire. (xk53Ux) (nmp)
