1996 McLaren F1 LM key fob cover with key.
This is a very special original F1/LM carbon key fob with solid silver hinge and prototype engraving sample. This key fob was the prototype made to develop the manufacturing technique and the effectiveness of the internal clasp magnet. The fob halves are held together by rare earth magnets hidden within the carbon case. It comes with a fully moulded top half used as a development part to test the depth and color of the F1/LM engraving, and also an original solid silver hinge and two silver screws. Only six complete ones were made (one for each owner), plus this prototype. These were built using a very time consuming process but one that Ron Dennis wanted as a special momento for the LM buyers.
