Description
1993 McLaren F1 Special Edition TAG Heuer 6000
This original automatic watch has a silver dial with applied hour markers and a distinctive leather braided strap. At the bottom lug is the lettering “F1″ with “V12″ written underneath, and these markings are identical to the script on the steering wheel of the car. As McLaren did not end up selling as many F1s as expected, TAG Heuer were left with some spare watches, which were slightly modified and given or sold to employees and customers.
The version of the watch that was given to owners has the script ‘McLaren Cars’ followed by the chassis number below the center stem on the dial, whereas the non-owner version of the watch we are offering is identical except for the writing on the dial, which reads: Chronometer / Officially certified / 200 METERS. It is in very good original condition and complete with factory box and cushion holder.
- We also have an uber rare ‘Chassis Watch‘, one of just 64 made with the matching serial number on the dial. These never come up for sale! It’s showing in the last image and quite pricey, enquire…
You can see Rowan wearing his inside chassis 061 (thanks Peloton!) and another one sitting on chassis 060. (McJu)
