1980s Giacobazzi ‘Lambrusco Team’ Gilles Villeneuve personal sponsor jacket
This lightweight insulated polyester fall jacket is made in Italy by GP Perugia. Likely worn for promotional use at the track, it is not sized but seems to be a Euro medium with fitted sleeves. It has a small (period correct) cigarette burn by the left front pocket.
Gilles relationship with Giacobazzi continued throughout his career (and indeed was honored after his passing). It was in fact initiated by Enzo Ferrari himself who called his friend Antonio Giacobazzi to insist he sponsor the ‘Piccolo Canadese’.
This is a very unique piece of Villeneuve history and suitable for display or vintage events.
