Description
1/8 1989 Sauber C9 Mercedes – Le Mans win
Here is an incredible large scale model of the 1989 Le Mans winner driven by Mass, Reuter & Dickens. This museum quality replica was built from over 7000 individual parts. The bodywork is all metal, the front and rear clips come off, and the doors open.
Just 15 – 25 of these amazing miniatures were made in mid 1990s by a team of German builders, and we have not seen another one available in over 20 years. At the time of purchase these expensive gems were available for the princely sum of US$25 000 (in equivalent Deutschemarks).
- The metal replica measures two feet (24” / 61cm) long and weighs about 15 lbs / 7 kgs.
The detail is truly outstanding – this is the most expensive and complex Mercedes or Le Mans miniature ever built!
- The last image shows Michael Schumacher holding a larger and much less detailed 1/5 scale Sauber team promotional model – not our hyper-detailed 1/8 scale – but a cool pic nonetheless!
