Description
1/5 1950 – 1951 Alfa Romeo 158/159 ‘Alfetta’ sculpture.
This gorgeous large scale model was hand built by artist Bruno Colombi over a period of 12-16 months. It has been constructed from various metals with some wood and features exhaust detailing, a bonnet with sprung fasteners, aluminium body with brass accents, wooden tires with aluminium spinners, Alfa Romeo mascot badge and clover leaf logo, intricate dashboard instrumentation, wooden steering wheel and fabric seats. It has the correct number of spokes in the wheels all individually fitted to the rim, and the detail even extends to the correct number of louvers and rivets on the bodywork!
The completed model is about 3 feet long and sits on a black lacquered display base (38×17″). It weighs approximately 40 lbs / 10kgs.
- Only two of these were built to replicate Juan Manuel Fangio’s Championship car.
This will make for a simply stunning centerpiece to an Alfisti’s collection. (K5.22U)
