1954 Cavallino Rampante trophy awarded by Enzo Ferrari to ‘Corriere dello Sport’ newspaper.
This bronze Cavallino is held on a two piece solid marble plinth and base. The plinth bears a bronze ribbon with ‘A Motor’ in raised lettering, a coloured enamel Ferrari emblem, and three bronze racing cars in relief (500 F2). It also bears a brass plaque with ‘1952-53-54’ (Championship Years) in raised lettering. The trophy measures 5.5×5.5×17” / 13.5×13.5×43 cm and is quite heavy. It is in very good condition. There are many reference photos showing Enzo handing these out at various award dinners in the mid 1950s and some of these are documented in the Ferrari yearbooks.
