This lovely large crystal model measures about 12.5″ / 32cm long and is quite heavy at 8 lbs / 3.6kgs. It was produced back in 1987 by Daum of France, and originally sold for around US$1000+ three decades ago.

Designed by Xavier Froissart, this was the sixth in a series of thirteen large automobile sculptures produced by the French company. This 300 SL Gullwing was produced in a limited series of 2542 pieces worldwide, and the un-numbered edition sold out over 30 years ago.

This is an amazing large scale replica of the engine and chassis from the Gullwing with mounted wheels and tires. It has been scratch built in Germany from over 2650 individual metal parts, so no detail has been left out! This museum quality model weighs 27 lbs / 12 kgs and measures over 2.5 feet long  (31″ / 79cm), 14.5″ wide and 8.5″ tall. The steering wheel pivots down like the real car, and the knock offs spin so you can remove the wheels and see the articulated brakes.

Note that Mercedes themselves displayed a full chassis on their stand when they launched the Gullwing at the 1954 Paris show.

This hardcover 112 page volume is in good overall condition but with some handling wear to the jacket. It measures 9.25 x 12″/ 23.5 x 30.5 cm and is a great reference book filled with colour photos of SLs.
• 1999 ‘Mercedes-Benz In Pictures’ Book – Beaulieu Archives. This hardcover 160 page volume by Roy Bacon is in very good condition. It is filled with black and white photos and history of the company, featuring road, race and experimental cars. The book measures 12 x 9.5″ / 30.5 x 24 cm and was published by Beaulieu Archives.
• 2002 ‘Mercedes-Benz 300SL: Racing Cars 1952 – 1953′ Book – Ludvigsen Library Series. This softcover 128 page volume is in good overall condition but with handling wear and some highlighting and notation to the pages. It measures 8.5 x 10.25″/ 21.5 x 26cm and is filled with black and white photos and history of the iconic 300SL racers. Fittingly, the introduction is written by former team boss Alfred Neubauer.
• 2004 ‘Mercedes-Benz 300SLR’ Book – Ludvigsen Library Series. This softcover 128 page volume is in good overall condition and measures 8.5 x 10.25″/ 21.5 x 26cm. It is filled with black and white photos and history of the iconic 300SLR racers. The introduction is written by Karl Ludvigsen.
• 2010 Mercedes-Benz Museum Book – Legend and Collection. This softcover 256 page volume is in excellent overall condition. It is filled with black and white and color photos and history of the company, featuring road, race and experimental cars. The German language portfolios contain many color and black and white lavishly illustrated sketches by German artist Liska celebrating the accomplishments and milestones of Mercedes in the first half of the century, as well as fashion and culture. Mentioned and/or illustrated are the 300SL Gullwing, 190SL, 300 SLR #722, W196 Streamliner, etc. The set of three publications include –

This large vintage painted porcelain-style metal sign adorned a Mercedes-Benz dealership in the 1950s. It measures over 3 feet  (39.5″ – 100cm) in diameter and was made in period by ‘S.A.S.A.G.O.’. The sign is in lovely overall condition but with some minor wear to the edges and faint scratches to the main body.

This huge original 5.2m / 17 foot long neon sign adorned the ‘Auto Engineering Inc.’ dealership in Lexington, MA USA from 1956 until some time in the 1970s. It was then removed from the outside and hung inside until they closed around 1988. This was purchased at a contents sale some years later.

Showing here is an image of it hanging outside the dealership in 1966 and another of an identical style sign above a different American Mercedes dealer in period (see the 300SL Roadster below it). The large heavy one piece sign is in very good condition with strong neon, and fully functioning.

This complete original two piece set of rare vintage suitcases was manufactured in the 1950s by Karl Baisch exclusively for the 300 SL. They are in very fine unrestored condition, with minor handling wear to the dark blue leather exteriors. They have very good plaid lining, with strong leather straps inside and out, Karl Baisch plates, and working latches. The original key is included as well.

The two bags are large and measure 29 x 21.5 x 6”/ 74x55x15cm and 40.5 x 22 x 6.5” / 103x55x16cm respectively.
