1/4 1967 Alfa Romeo 33/2 Long Tail Zagato Le Mans

This original wind tunnel / styling model was crafted by Centro Stile Alfa Romeo. This fiberglass model is very large – about one quarter scale, measuring over 3.5 feet long (43” / 110 cm). It was previously owned by Zagato coachbuilding, and comes with a letter from the man at Zagato who received it from Mr. Gastroni, who worked for Alfa Centro Stilo in the 1960s.

Showing are two great reference photos –

The first one is Carlo Chiti – head of AutoDelta (Alfa) in the late 1960s/early 1970s standing beside Tipo 33 styling models. To his left beside his hand is a styling model for a Porsche 908/03 – so he must have been comparing the competition! It is hard to know for sure but this actual model might be in the group – on the second row from the top, on the far left.

The second image shows a similar or possibly the same model again on display (top left corner) beside the real car.

This of course comes with our lifetime certificate. (xK02Uxx)

1/5 1954 – 1962 Mercedes 300SL Gullwing / Roadster chassis

This is an amazing large scale replica of the engine and chassis from the Gullwing with mounted wheels and tires. It has been scratch built in Germany from over 2650 individual metal parts, so no detail has been left out! This museum quality model weighs 27 lbs / 12 kgs and measures over 2.5 feet long (31″ / 79cm), 14.5″ wide and 8.5″ tall. The steering wheel pivots down like the real car, and the knock offs spin so you can remove the wheels and see the articulated brakes.

Note that Mercedes themselves displayed a full chassis on their stand when they launched the Gullwing at the 1954 Paris show.

A tiny edition of just 10 of these replicas have been specially built for our gallery, and now just one remains!

This model is spectacular, and it is a ‘must’ for the Mercedes enthusiast or Gullwing owner.

This stunning large scale model was built by BELL / SportsEurope back in 2005. An edition of 250 pieces were planned, but in the end, less than 85 models were actually produced, and this one is 037/250. The huge replica measures 3 feet long (36 x 16 x 10.5″ / 91 x 41 x 27 cm) and weighs about 28 lbs / 13kg. As with most models of this immense scale, nothing opens, but it has a fully articulated cockpit and lots of external details with a lovely paint finish.

This replica is based on several early GTOs, including s/n 3323gt – 3387gt – 3705gt – 3607gt.

This rare model is in ‘new old stock’ condition and complete with certificate and original wood shipping crate. (39x17x12″ & 53 lbs)
