1926 – 1955 Le Mans ACO Paddock Sign
This is the original medallion which hung on the paddock walls at Le Mans from 1926 until 1955. It is one of very few in private ownership. Apparently, only 11 of these signs hung on the paddock walls, and the ACO museum has most of the others, which are not for sale.
The large aluminum medallion measures over two feet wide (25.5″ / 65cm) and weighs a hefty 15.5 lbs / 7kgs. It is in wonderful condition but still retains a lovely patina from decades of display trackside. There are countless photos of this sign in the official LM book ’24 Heures Du Mans 1923-1992′ (book 1 published by the ACO), including the ones showing here from 1953 & 1954 Le Mans.
