Description
1/7 1953 Ferrari 500 F2 toy car.
This large promotional metal model was made by MLB Luigi Marchesini for the Toschi distillery and is one of the first licensed Ferrari toys. The aluminum bodied car was originally used to house a bottle of cherries in liqueur which were presented to celebrities and drivers.
The big model measures nearly 2 feet long (21x7x10″ / 53x18x25cm) and is functional via an elastic powered friction engine. This particular model is ‘new old stock’ and absolutely mint….the best we’ve ever seen…even the outer box is included and all of ‘engine’ components are still disassembled in the small inner box.
You will never find another in this condition!
- Note: the last image shows Ascari himself examining the model with Villoresi, circa 1953.
