1938 Bugatti Automobiles Autorails Molsheim poster.
Ettore Bugatti designed one of the first modern high-speed gasoline powered railway systems in the world. His first train was tested near the Bugatti factory in Alsace, France in 1933. Prior to this date nearly all trains were hauled by heavy steam locomotives.
This is an original factory poster showing the Type 57 (T57) and the Bugatti-made train. It was published in Frankrijk, France, in 1938 for the Alsatian distributor. The cover art is by R. Geri (who frequently worked for Bugatti), and everything, including the Bugatti name, is rendered to illustrate high speed.
This poster is professionally linen mounted and framed. It measures 39×24″ and is in good ‘B+’ condition.
