1953 Carrera Panamericana Mexico original event poster.
This rare original event poster was published for the 4th running of this famous event, which was won by Juan Manuel Fangio in his Lancia D24. This is one of two styles of posters published for the event, and it shows a stylized F1 car speeding. Scuderia Lancia swept the top three positions with Fangio / Bronzoni taking First in their Lancia D24 (s/n #0004), followed by Taruffi / Maggio in their sister D24, and Castellotti / Luoni in their Lancia D23. Fourth & Sixth places went to Ferrari 375 MMs with Fifth to a Talbot-Lago T26GS and then a whole host of Americana – Lincolns, Cadillacs, Oldsmobiles and Packards following. (nmp)
