Description
1960s Lamborghini Automobili illuminated dealer sign
This vintage original illuminated Italian sign is made of hard plastic with raised lettering, and measures a large 3 feet wide (35″ / 91 cm in diameter) and 4″ deep. It is in very good original condition and is functional, but with one small 2″ fracture to the side (near the ‘i’ in Automobili) that is not visible from head on. It has a central metal eyebolt for hanging. Very few of these vintage signs were made in the late 1960s by Baladelli in Bologna and this one graced an American Lamborghini dealership from the late 1960s to the early 1970s.
- This sign can be seen hanging in the Lamborghini Cafeteria right above the seated Valentino Balboni, circa 1972. As well, in Chris Harvey’s book “A Collectors Guide – The Lamborghinis” there is one on page 40. You can also see an identical one hanging in the Lamborghini factory window and again at the Geneva Auto Show on page 101 in the same book, behind a Urraco and a Miura.
How cool will this period piece look hanging in your garage, office or dealership over your 350GT, 400GT, Urraco, Miura or Countach?
